In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Pratik Gandhi admitted that he loves comedy and has explored various facets of comedy on the Gujarati stage.However, he stated that he is venturing into this genre on screen for the first time and expressed excitement to witness how much he can entertain the audience with this opportunity.
Elaborating further, Pratik added that physical and slapstick comedy are difficult genres. According to him, it requires strong discipline and a completely objective approach on an actor’s part towards the performance while performing. An actor should know when to stop in comedy. The actor added that he always wanted to explore this genre, and when Kunal Khemu narrated the script, he loved it and could put my faith in his vision.
Pratik revealed that he admired Kunal’s comic timing and expertise in the sub-genre of comedy. The ‘Bhavai’ actor described him as a multi-talented artist. With “Madgaon Express,” Kunal is also exploring writing, directing, lyric writing, and singing (for one song in the film). He expressed that they could perceive Kunal’s strong and clear vision in the narration itself. He further stated that shooting the film with Kunal as the director was a fun and enriching experience.
Meanwhile, the team of ‘Madgaon Express’, who is basking in the success of the film, celebrated the Iftar party together. The cast and crew came together and celebrated the occasion of Ramadan at Bhendi Bazaar.
The film received positive reviews and earned Rs 7.16 crore in its opening weekend. It also stars Divyenndu, Avinash Tiwary, and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles.
