Any go-to jewellery? A necklace my partner Moana [Hope] gave to me with a stone the colour of her son’s eyes. Knowing that I love simple, minimalistic jewellery, she also gave me a gold bracelet for my birthday that I always wear, as well as a dainty pride ring with all the rainbow colours.
What would you wear
… on a first date? I’d rather be overdressed than underdressed. A statement dress, fitted and understated but still sexy, with my satin “Power” mules and effortless undone hair
… on a plane? Oversized baggy jeans, a tight tank, oversized blazer, my favourite Louis Vuitton “Onthego” bag and cream “Bravery” slides
… on the red carpet? Red is my colour. One incredible look was for Glamour on the Grid 2023, a gorgeous red sculptural dress by J’Aton with red patent platform shoes and a red lip. It’s crazy because I wore something similar to my school formal and I was voted best dressed. It’s come full circle.
Do you remember a favourite outfit you wore as a child? I remember doing a pretend photo shoot at home in a floral crop top, a white miniskirt that was very Spice Girls, chunky sneakers, black sunnies that made me look too cool for life and a little zebra bag.
What was your first fashion moment? When I was eight, my family went to India. At the time, I wanted to be a fashion designer. I’d sketched a pair of leopard-print boots and Mum actually took me to have them made. It was pretty cool to have a dream and see it come to life. I wore them with leopard-print pants – it was very Fran Drescher. I grew up watching The Nanny and she was definitely a style icon of mine.

And your worst fashion mistake? When I was 14, my parents dropped me at the local shops to hang out with friends, but we were secretly going to meet boys. I did the classic trick of taking off the cardigan and baggy pants to reveal the real outfit underneath – a black singlet, red board shorts and a string of red beads. You would not catch me dead in that now, but I thought I looked really cute.
What’s on your wish list? Black Bottega Veneta “Cat Eye” sunglasses.
Is there anything you would never wear? Birkenstocks.
Is there a current trend you like? Athletic prep – it’s a nice vibe coming off the back of tennis-core.
Who’s your favourite fashion icon? Zendaya. She embodies a perfect mix of power, sensuality and storytelling.
What shoes do you wear most often? My “Joy” satin mules. I’m not a flats girl.
What’s your favourite off-duty, casual Sunday look? A low-rise denim maxiskirt, tight tank, light trench and chunky white sneakers. Add sunnies and I’m good to go.
