During his chat with Siddharth Kannan, Randeep was asked about his response to Kangana Ranaut‘s criticism of Alia being called a ‘mediocre’ actor back in 2019 during an interview.Randeep reflected on his experience of working with Alia in Highway and the bond they developed during the making of the movie. He described it as a ‘spiritual bond’ and expressed admiration for Alia’s willingness to explore new roles and genres.
Randeep said that he genuinely stood up for Alia because he believed she was unfairly targeted. Speaking about Kangana, he also commented on the practice of targeting colleagues within the industry, stating that it is ‘unbecoming’. He expressing his belief that everyone has received opportunities and benefits from the industry.

“To target your fellow actors or your colleagues or your fraternity over things that you feel you did not get, even though I think you did got a lot from this industry, it’s just unbecoming. I felt that I should do it and I did it,” he said.
Randeep made his directorial debut with his recently released film Swatantra Veer Savarkarin which he also played the role of freedom fighter and controversial political figure Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The movie also stars Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial.
