Randeep Hooda’s recent film ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ has finished thirteen days in theaters. The movie showcased decent performances at the box office but often struggles to maintain momentum some days. Randeep, who handled direction, acting, and even producing the film, opened up about Bollywood’s no-show for this biographical political drama.
While talking to Siddharth Kannan, Randeep reacted that he does not know what kind of support he should ask for from others. He mentioned that everybody’s busy with their own work. Randeep has an opinion that the industry isn’t some animal but a large entity in which he is also a part of. A lot of people including his old directors guided him through this. “So, I don’t understand what help I’m supposed to ask for. Am I supposed to ask for money? I would love for people to watch my movie, and to not get drowned by the political overtones that it has been assigned,” he stated.

‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ star Randeep Hooda throws light on his camaraderie with Salman Khan: He says, If I don’t build a fortune now, I might face problems later

In the same interview, the actor admitted that the lack of social media promotion for his projects might have affected its acceptance and he doesn’t tweet in support of others’ films either. Randeep never approached people for work that often; he found himself a fraud whenever he made such moves. While stating that he had worked with almost all prominent people in the industry, the actor marked his wish to work with Yash Raj, Karan Joharthe Bhatts, Sajid Nadiadwala, and some more.
The actor did not get an expected review from the insiders for his role in the Hollywood movie ‘Extraction’. The assumption of others about him being ‘arrogant’ and staying out of the ‘B-club’ might be the reason for such silence. “I must’ve had one of the meatiest roles in history (for an Indian in Hollywood), but nobody said anything. But yes, sometimes a pat on the back is a good thing,” Randeep added.
Randeep admitted that he attended Bollywood parties primarily for his own enjoyment but not to make connections. He wished he could learn how to play the game at a younger age. But it doesn’t happen naturally to him.
As of now, ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ could earn just Rs 17 crore according to sacnilk. It also features Ankita Lokhande and Amit Shit in pivotal roles.
