Maidaan box office collection Day 14: Ajay Devgn starrer sees no growth at ticket windows, completes second week with Rs 37.80 crore |

Ajay Devgn‘s sports film ‘Maidaan’ has shown very little at the box office this week.
The film which completes its second week at the box office windows today, earned just around Rs 75 lakh on its second Wednesday. The film which earned an estimated Rs 28.35 crore in its opening week, saw major growth at the ticket windows over its second weekend. After earning Rs 1.45 crore on its second Friday and Rs 2.65 crore on Saturday, the film earned an estimated Rs 3.15 crore on Sunday, thus recording the highest collections of the weekend.
On its second Monday, the film earned an estimated Rs 70 lakh and kept a consistent graph through the rest of the week, earning an estimated Rs 75 lakh on Tuesday and Wednesday.The film now boasts a total collection of Rs 37.80 crore. Meanwhile, the film earned an estimated Rs 44 crore.
Based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–62), the film is directed by Amit Sharma and stars Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, Gajraj Raoand Rudranil Ghosh in key roles.
Meanwhile, the film earned an added Rs 7 crore from international markets. This took the overall box office total to an estimated Rs 51.2 crore.
According to the latest reports, owing to the film’s underperformance at the box office, theatre chains have slashed ticket rates to lure in higher footfalls.
Maidaan, which clashed at the box office with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff‘s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. However, both films could not rake in the big bucks.
