During an interview with News18 Showsha, she discussed how she had always known that a commercial potboiler would not win over critics. She shared, “It didn’t bother me because I feel that I got a lot from the film. I managed to reach a new audience who perhaps didn’t know of me. When you’re making a film of that scale and an action masala one at that, the reviews aren’t going to be all about critical acclaim.”
She also doesn’t seem to be phased in part because she understands that the audience and their decisions can never be controlled. She further stated that the main review for a film like this will always come from the audience.
Alaya acknowledges that her character Pam was subjected to conflicting viewpoints. She claimed there were two perspectives of her character. People either felt she was the most charming character ever or they thought she was the most annoying character to ever grace an action.
She further added, “I chose to do the character in a certain way. I was well aware of the fact that she wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Sometimes, certain scenes after edit end up looking differently onscreen and that’s something out of my control. I gave my heart and I did what I thought was the best.”
The 26-year-old says she prefers to see the bright side of things rather than dwelling on the negative. She said, “I was just happy that I received visibility. Let people send me some hate and get angry (laughs). That also works. And anyway, the fact remains that every film has its own journey and fate.”
On the work front, Alaya F will be next seen in the film ‘Srikanth’ alongside Rajkummar Rao.
