Earlier this morning, Kunal took to his IG handle to share gratitude to his team and how the movie has been special in more ways than one.
He also wished the audience a very happy holi. He wrote, “From day 1 of shoot to the day I said the last pack up on the sets of Madgoan Express. Each day has been so special in so many ways. And I couldn’t have done it without my amazing team of actors and technicians. To the many colours of friendship that the film showcases and the many colours of my own personality that I got to explore through this film
I wish you all a very happy Holi and thank you so much for all the love that you have shown to our film. May this festival of colours bring you all you happiness and good luck #happyholi”
While on the film, its has been gaining a lot of praise not only from the industry, but also from the audience members. The film opened to just Rs 1.5 crore on Friday, but saw a near 83% jump on Saturday to collect Rs 2.75 crore and on Sunday, it added another Rs 2.85 crore to its tally, taking the first weekend collection to Rs 7.10 crore, a very respectable collection for a small film made on a limited budget. The film is expected to add another couple of crores to its total collection on Monday, especially in the night shows as most parts of the country have a holiday on the occasion of Holi festival.

The film is expected to collect about Rs 13 crore in its first week. With only ‘Crew’ starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon, Diljit Dosanjh releasing next week, Kunal’s directorial venture is expected to carry on its journey onto the second week as well.
