Ram Gopal Varma recently revealed why Amitabh Bachchan was surprised upon hearing the ‘Govinda Govinda‘ song in ‘Sarkar‘ for the first time.
In a YouTube interview, Ram Gopal Varma recounted his surprise when he played the Govinda track for Amitabh Bachchan. Varma explained that Bachchan initially interpreted it as a homage to the Bollywood actor Govinda.

Upon first hearing the track, Mr Bachchan seemed puzzled, questioning where the reference to the actor Govinda came from, according to the filmmaker.

RGV then explained to Amitabh Bachchan that the Govinda Govinda chant referenced Lord Krishna. He likened Subhash Nagre’s character to Krishna, powerful and manipulative. Although Bachchan initially questioned it, he eventually accepted the symbolism. Varma’s intention was to integrate one of his favorite tracks into the film.
