Actress Janhvi Kapoorwho is gearing up for the release of her upcoming Sharan Sharma’s film ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ alongside Rajkummar Rao, was in Delhi to promote her film. The trailer of the film, which was recently released, sparked a lot of buzz among her fans. Since the actress has been busy promoting her film, a brief clip of the actress’s interview, in which she stated that it would be fascinating to watch a debate between Mahatma Gandhi and BR Ambedkarhas gone viral on social media.
During a conversation with The Lallantop, Janhvi shared, “I think it would be very interesting to watch a debate between Ambedkar and Gandhi. Just a debate between what they stand for and how their views kept changing over time on any one particular topic or how they influenced each other. They’ve both helped our society immensely, so what they feel about each other would be an interesting discourse.”
She further added, “Ambedkar was still very stern and clear from the start what his stand was but I think Gandhi’s view kept evolving as he got more and more exposed to the rampant caste-based discrimination in our society. To learn more about it from a third person’s perspective and enduring it firsthand is quite distinctive from one another.”
A behind-the-scenes video documenting Janhvi’s transition into Mahi, featuring quotes from instructors, director Sharan Sharman, and the actress herself, was recently released by the producers. In the clip, the director mentions that Janhvi was initially prepared, thinking the training would be similar to what she had done for Gunjan. However, she soon discovered that the training was nothing like that. The coaches mentioned that Janhvi attended a cricket workshop and watched international cricketers as well. However, it was not an easy path.
The actress suffered ligament breaks in both of her shoulders during the training. The director revealed that they had discovered that Janhvi has something called MDI or multidirectional instability, which is advantageous for dancers but disadvantageous for cricket players. However, she finally bounced back and completed her training. In the BTS, Janhvi also calls herself the most unathletic person and says she doesn’t know anything about the sport.
‘Mr. And Mrs. Mahi’ is all set to hit the big screens on May 31.
