Janhvi Kapoor recalls pre-‘Dhadak’ talks for another Dharma film with Karan Johar | Hindi Movie News

Since 2018, Janhvi Kapoor has shared a close professional bond with karan joharbeginning with ‘dhadak‘, their collaboration continued with projects like ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ and ‘Rocky and Rani's love story‘, where she made a cameo appearance. Now, Janhvi is gearing up for her fourth project with Karan, titled ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’, highlighting their stable partnership in the film industry.
Janhvi Kapoor, in an interview with News18, addressed that the perceptions surrounding Karan Johar, known for his flamboyant persona and unorthodox style.While some admire his grand storytelling and bold fashion choices, others criticise him as a model of nepotism.
The actress said that she doesn’t know if intimidating is the right word to describe Karan. He has got a very strong and vibrant personality. He has got a lot of energy when he’s doing his talk show. But the one thing she’s realised is that he’s truly aware of social politics. Janhvi always noticed him taking a stand for what’s correct. She’s always appreciated that in him.
Janhvi Kapoor recalls her initial meetings with Karan Johar, which happened before she began shooting for ‘Dhadak’. The actor said that she used to meet him on and off at social events. But her first few proper interactions with him were at his office. Janhvi said that she didn’t remember if she had signed ‘Dhadak’ by then but there was a conversation about her doing another Dharma film.
The actress added that she would go to his office once every week and he would give her a scene. Sharan Sharma was his AD at that point and Karan was working on ‘Oh my heart it's difficult‘. Sharan’s job was to print out a scene every day from films like ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Kapoor & Sons’, among others, and give it to. As homework, she had to learn it and come and audition for Karan although he never referred to it as an audition. The actress thinks he was just gauging her.
