The film that has emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, now has the final numbers to cement its spot.According to sacnilk.com, ‘Fighter’ culminated its box office journey with a global gross of around Rs 359 crores.
Directed by Siddharth Anandthe adrenaline-pumping film took flight during the Republic Day weekend. Its four-day weekend haul soared to approximately Rs 118.50 crores net, setting the stage for what was promised to be a triumphant run. However, after the first weekend, the film saw a dip in earnings on its first Monday. Despite garnering positive reviews and great word of mouth, the film saw a downward trend at the box office.
After a huge first week, the film slowly proceeded past the coveted Rs 200 crore nett mark to earn a domestic total of Rs 212.75 crore and a gross collection of an estimated Rs 255 crore.
The film’s triumph extended beyond domestic borders, with ‘Fighter’ making waves overseas, grossing over Rs 100 crores. According to the report, the film earned an estimated collection of Rs 104 crore from its wide international release. This achievement not only marked a milestone for Hrithik Roshan, establishing it as his highest-grossing overseas venture, but also as his first film to breach the 100 crores mark internationally.
It must be noted that the film was barred from its release in Gulf countries, thus considerably affecting its box office numbers.
As the dust settles on its remarkable box office performance, ‘Fighter’ has now been officially categorized as a “Hit” and is the only Hindi film in the first quarter of the year to cross the Rs 300 crore mark this year. The movie is now streaming online with an extended cut. Reports state that an additional 4 minutes of footage has been added to the film in the form of song sequences that were left out of the theatrical premiere.
