Pakistani star Mahira Khanwho tied the knot with her close friend and businessman Salim Karim in October 2023, recently shared an anecdote from her wedding in an interview. The actor revealed that everyone at her wedding was cryingincluding the ‘waiters and the mountain DJs.’
In a video clip that’s been making the rounds on the internet, the actress talked about her wedding with Salim Karim and disclosed that there was not a dry eye at her wedding and everybody was ‘ugly’ crying during that joyous ceremony.Mahira said, “There was not a dry eye in that wedding. Starting with Salim and Azlan, and amma and appa and myself but forget all of us as a friend of mine, Maha said ‘we were ugly crying’.”
She further added, “But sabse jo best tha wo ye tha, what was the best was when, maine waiters to dekha na. I was like (hand gesture) nahi nahi ye nahi ho sakta. The white DJs would come, they would also come, the white would also come.”
Talking about why her wedding ceremony was so emotional, the actress said, “It was so small and intimate, and it was a real moment of trust and letting go.”
For the uninformed, Mahira was previously married to Ali Askari, with whom she has a son, Azlan. However, it was after eight years of their marital bliss that the ex-couple took the decision to end their wedding.
