Ajay Devgn starrer ‘field‘ is all set to hit the screens on the occasion of Eid and the film’s advance booking looks promising. This sports drama has managed to sell 3961 tickets for its opening day, earning Rs 7.37 lakh, revealed sacnilk. The report further stated that if block seat booking were included then ‘Maidaan’ has earned Rs 24.36 lakh for its first day.
Interestingly, ‘Maidaan’ seems to have booked a promising start but ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, which arrives on the same date, has only earned Rs 8.4 lakh, with block ticket booking.Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' is an action entertainer starring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles.
While ‘Maidaan’ is inspired from the true story of Syed Abdul Rahim, the coach and manager of the Indian football team from 1950 to 1963. Speaking about the film, Ajay had shared, “After 1983 (referring to India’s win in the cricket world cup), football was lost somewhere. I was amazed that this happened in our country. We had Amit Sharma (director), who did extensive research. I would not call it just a sports film. It has got so much drama. As an actor, it was a film with so many layers. It is very strong in its emotional drama, apart from sports. After a long time, I had fun doing a film like this. I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
‘Maidaan’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ will hit the screens on April 10, on the day of Eid.
