Aruna Irani who’s known for her memorable on-screen portrayals in the 60s and 70s apart from her dance numbers, continues to leave a mark still! Being in the industry for so many years, Irani also has some really good bonding with everyone and in a recent interview, she’s shared her experiences about many of her co-stars.
The actress who has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Bombay To Goa‘ spoke about him and said during a chat with Zoom, that he used to stay aloof from the very beginning.He would spend most of his time in his vanity or his room and he would never get friendly with anyone on the set.
She spoke about her equation with Shatrughan Sinha, Rajesh Khanna as well. Talking about Sinha, she revealed, “I never had a great friendship with him. But we used to talk sometimes.”
However, she had a good rapport with Rajesh Khanna and while people used to get scared of him, she never did. The late superstar used to call her ‘behen’. Meanwhile, Irani spoke about her bonding with actresses as well. “I had a good rapport with the heroines also. I don’t know why they liked me.”
In the same interview, Aruna also revealed how there were rumours that she had gotten married to Mehmood and that led to her not getting any work. For two years, she was without any work. There was no truth to those rumours but Aruna regrets not clarifying it in the media that time. That also affected her career.
