FWICE president BN Tiwari declares optional holiday on Mumbai election day to encourage voting – Exclusive

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has taken a proactive step towards promoting democratic participation by announcing an optional holiday on the upcoming election day in Mumbai. This decision aims to facilitate all cine and television workers to exercise their fundamental right to vote without hindrance.
President of FWICE, BN Tiwari, told ETimes, “We will be announcing an optional holiday so that all our cine and television workers can exercise their voting rights.”
Furthermore, Tiwari mentioned, “If anyone wants to work on the voting day in Mumbai, he or she will have to vote and then come for the shoot.Our volunteers will check before they start working.”
In addition to individual responsibility, Tiwari also asked producers to monitor voting among technicians. He stated, “The producer should also ensure that all our technicians who work on that day have exercised their voting rights.”

The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtrawhich will be conducted in five phases across various regions of the state. The vote counting is scheduled to take place on June 4.
