Now sources have exclusively shared with ETimes that Farhan and Razneesh’s project is mostly based on the battle of Rezang La (Ladakh area) which was fought during the Indo-China War of 1962. Rezang La shone as a beacon of valor for India during the 1962 Indo-China conflict, the battle tells the story of 120 Indian soldiers of Charlie Company 13 Kumaon, led by Major Shaitan Singh. They took on nearly 5000 Chinese soldiers, wherein over 1300 Chinese soldiers passed while 110 Indian soldiers attained martyrdom. The battle thwarted the Chinese PLA’s attempts to breach the critical ridge into the Chushul Valley, thus saving Ladakh from falling into the hands of Chinese intruders. The same location was also the spot of skirmishes during the 2020 stand off between the two countries. The Indian army built a war memorial in the memory of soldiers who died protecting the country.
Our source also added that Razneesh has been trying to make this film for a while now and the story is extremely close to him as he also belongs to the army background with his father and brother having served in the armed forces. This will be the second collaboration for Farhan and Razneesh, they first worked together for a commercial for a mobile brand that had farhan as their ambassador.
One Param Vir Chakraeight Vir Chakras, four Sena Medals, and one M-in-D (Mentioned-in-Dispatches) were awarded to the soldiers of the Company, making it one of the highest decorated companies of the Indian Army to this day.
