Salman Khan's films, including Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Tiger 3, along with Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj, Ram Setu, and the recent Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, have not met expected success at the box office.
Shreyas Talpadewho is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kartam Bhugtamexpressed his views on the situation during a conversation with Siddharth Kannan. He talked about the audience’s growing taste, even among fans of superstars, who are tired of mediocre content associated with their favorite idols.
“People are tired. People now recognize in the trailer what this (film) will be like. Whether to go for it or not,” Shreyas remarked.

He further stated that despite extensive promotion efforts, the decision to watch a film ultimately rests on how the trailer resonates with viewers. “Hum jitna marzi promote kar de, theatre jaane wali audience trailer dekh ke decide karegi ki film dekhni hai ya nahi. Kab dekhni hai, ya word-of-mouth ke baad dekhni hai (No matter how much we promote, the audience going to the theaters will decide whether to watch the film or not based on the trailer. They will decide when to watch it, or whether to watch it after word-of-mouth reviews.).”

Reflecting on the nature of success in the film industry, Shreyas noted, “Aise thodi hai ki star power hai, toh unki saari filmein chalegi. Rajesh Khanna sir ki line se filmein hit hui thi, phir ek time baad nahi chali toh nahi chali. So that has been happening from the time we had films, and it will happen in future also. It’s our duty ki hum achhi film banaye (It’s not like having star power guarantees the success of all their films. Films used to be hit based on Rajesh Khanna sir’s line, then they stopped working after a while. So, that phenomenon has been happening since the inception of films, and it will continue in the future as well. It’s our duty to make good films).”
Shreyas will be next seen in Kartam Bhugtam, which also stars Vijay Raaz, Madhoo Shah, and Aksha Pardasany in the key roles. The film will be released in the cinemas on May 17.
