‘October’ actress Banita Sandhu appears in ‘Bridgerton Season 3’ as Miss Malhotra; surprised fans ask ‘Why didn’t we know about this?’ |

Those who tuned in to catch the premiere of ‘Bridgerton Season 3‘ were in for a pleasant surprise when they spotted Indian actress Banita Sandhu in the star cast.
The actress, best known for her role in ‘October’ and who also went viral around the world for starring in the AP Dhillon music video, quite literally made her ‘debut’ in the hit regency drama.Playing the role of Miss Malhotrashe was among the prominent faces on the show as she played a young lady making her debut in society.

Her character was among the first to the introduced in the first 5 minutes of the show, which featured a voiceover by Lady Whistledown. She then goes on to compete with other young women vying for the queen’s attention to be crowned as the ‘Diamond of the Season’.
However, desi fans seemed to be shocked that the actress managed to pull off this surprise. “First five seconds into ep1, IS THIS BANITA SANDHU,” a fan commented on X.

Another wrote, “Oh that’s banita sandhu I’m so happy for her, western series giving Indian women more diverse representation. I’m here for it.”
Another angry fan tweeted, “Can’t believe Netflix India marketing team slept on Banita Sandhu (the female lead of October and who also featured in the AP Dhillon viral With You video) being a part of Bridgerton Season 3…”

Banita, on Thursday also took to her handle to share some BTS pictures with the cast from the sets of the new season. The actress showed off her elaborate costumes and stunning jewellery for the show.
The news of the actress’ appearance in the hit international series comes just a day after it was announced that veteran star Tabu has joined the cast ‘Dune: Prophecy’, a prequel series to the billion-dollar movie franchise. Tabu will star in the recurring role of Sister Francescadescribed as a “strong, intelligent, and alluring” character, who was once a great love of the Emperor.

The series is set 10,000 years before the events of Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune’ and is based on the novel ‘Sisterhood of Dune’ by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson. It was previously titled ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’.
