Sobhita Dhulipala recalls her ‘ground experience’ at her first Cannes appearance, says she bought eggs and onions to cook for her self | Hindi Movie News

Sobhita Dhulipala made her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival for her film ‘Raman Raghav‘ which released in 2016. The film was directed by Anurag Kashyap and had its first screening at the Cannes Film Festival. It starred Vicky Kaushal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui With the the Cannes Film Festival underway this year, Sobhita has recalled her memories of her debut appearance, while expressing that she was really naïve and learning on the go.
The ‘Made In Heaven’ actress also described her debut appearance as a very grounding experience and said in a chat with Film Companion, “When we got here, we were all staying in an Airbnb somewhere far away. The experience was very grounding. We were getting eggs and onions from a local shop and we were cooking in the house, it was very cute. Now, when I look back, it was not flamboyant in any way, we were just doing very desi things.”
She further recalled how they missed the premiere of their film. “We didn’t know the film would have a premiere, so we just entered the theatre and the director just screamed at us because the press had left. And we were like, ‘There was a premiere?’ We didn’t know.”
Sobhita also called it very enriching and confessed how she learnt things slowly. “I didn’t know so much, I was also learning on the go. I didn’t know so much about the festival, except whatever I could Google and it shaped me because I could see that people respected the craft and you didn’t have to belong. You could just do your thing and be authentic passionate and do it beautifully and you have a place in the sun,” said the actress.
Sobhita also confessed it added a sense of freedom to her to choose the kind of work she believes in and she thought there were people who were appreciating the craft.
