Salman Khan casts his vote nearly at closing time – see pics |

Salman Khan was in Dubai over the weekend, but returned home on Monday morning, just in time to vote during the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The actor arrived at the airport, early on May 20, and was one of the last celebrities to turn up to vote and exercise his right as a responsible citizen. As the city completed its polling day, Salman arrived at the Bandra booth around 5:30 pm, dressed in cargo pants and a blue T-Shirt.
Since the past few months, Salman has been facing numerous threats, with a firing incident also taking place outside his Bandra residence. As a safety measure, Salman moves around with heavy security adn his trusted aide Shera. Earlier in the day, his parents, Salim and Salma Khan stepped out to vote, while Arbaaz Khan was also seen arriving with additional security to cast his vote.
Asking everyone to vote, Salman had shared previously on X, “I exercise 365 days a year no matter what and now I’m going to exercise my right to vote on the 20th of May no matter what. So do whatever you want to do man, but go and vote and don’t trouble your Bharat Mata .. Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
Akshay Kumar exercised his right to vote for the first time this year, after receiving the Indian citizenship in 2023. After voting early in the morning, Akshay had told the media outside the polling booth, “I want my India to be developed and strong. I voted keeping that in mind. India should vote for what they deem is right…I think voter turnout will be good.”
Shah Rukh Khan was seen arriving at the polling booth with his entire family – Gauri, AbRam, Suhana and Aryan Khan. Other celebrities like Govinda, Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and Rajkummar Rao were also spotted at respective polling booths.
