Preity Zinta had made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. She was also seen on the red carpet in 2007 again. She left everyone stunned with both these appearances. Her black gown look is still considered classic. Meanwhile, the actress has now made a comeback at Cannes after 17 years and she is still winning hearts.

The actress is currently shooting for ‘Lahore 1947’ and here’s why she is at the Cannes. Preity will be present to give the Pierre Angenieuz Award to cinematographer Santosh Sivan. She’s collaborated with Sivan in many movies and infact, started her career with him, in ‘Dil Se‘. Sivan is also the cinematographer on ‘Lahore 1947’ which sees Preity along with Sunny Deol.
Preity spoke about Sivan at the festival an in interview with DD India. In this video from the Cannes, the actress recalled how Santosh took care of her when she started her career in Mani Ratnam‘s ‘Dil Se’. Recalling the shoot of her cult song ‘Jiya Jale’, Preity said, “While we were shooting in Kerala, the song had a little light rain. You don’t really see the rain, but it was there. So in the four days there, my bones were hurting in the rain, I had fever, I wasn’t feeling well. Santosh came and got me rasam and all the food, and said, ‘Why don’t you eat this? It’s hot.’ He was really sweet and took care of me.”
‘Lahore 1947’ sees Preity collaborating with Sunny Deol and the film is produced by Aamir Khan. It’s directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.
