When Priyanka Chopra cried over her debut film with Vijay; mom Madhu convinced her to accept the offer | Hindi Movie News

Priyanka Chopra‘s mother, Madhu Chopra, recently recalled her daughter’s debut in the 2002 Tamil film ‘Thamizhan’ opposite Vijay. Madhu remembered how Priyanka initially hesitated to accept the role but eventually encouraged her daughter to embrace the opportunity.
Discussing Priyanka’s initial hesitation to pursue a film career, Madhu Chopra revealed to Filmygyan that her daughter wasn’t interested in acting.She received an offer for a South Indian film through someone. When Madhu mentioned the offer to her, she was in tears and said, ‘I am not doing films.’ However, being the obedient child she always was, she agreed to the offer when Madhu encouraged her and signed the contract for ‘Thamizhan’.
Madhu further said that when Priyanka was shooting for the film, she began to like it. Despite not knowing the language, she enjoyed it. The team helped her and treated her with a lot of respect. Vijay starred in the film; he is a perfect gentleman. Raju Sundaram was the choreographer. In dance, Priyanka was okay, but she couldn’t initially match steps with Vijay. She would practice with the choreographer from morning to evening. Then she started enjoying it. This also helped her build her character and realize that she wanted to pursue this as a career.
After winning the Miss World 2000 title, Priyanka Chopra began her acting career with the 2002 Tamil film ‘Thamizhan’. She later appeared in her first Bollywood movie, ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy’ in 2003, alongside Sunny Deol.
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will be seen in the film ‘The Bluff’, directed by Frank E. Flowers. She has also recently wrapped up filming for ‘Heads of State’, an action-comedy featuring key roles by Idris Elba, John Cenaand Jack Quaid.
