The highly anticipated Season 2 premiere of HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon‘ took place last night, and leading stars Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy stole the spotlight with their stunning appearances on the green carpet.
The premiere event, held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, was a star-studded affair with cast members, industry insiders, and fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter of the epic ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel series.
Olivia Cooke, who plays the Alicent Hightower, had all eyes on her when she hit the carpet in a cut-out blue floor-length gown. Her ensemble was completed with an elegant updo and minimal jewellery.
Emma D’Arcy, on the other hand, who portrays Rhaenyra Targaryen, made a fashion statement with a chic, gender-fluid outfit that blended classic suit with contemporary styles. D’Arcy’s look featured a tailored, shimmery black suit paired with a white shirt, black tie and stylish leather pants. The star topped the look off with minimal accessories, showcasing their unique fashion sense.

The leading stars’ photos together got fans all hyped and excited as they shared their honest reactions to the striking pictures. The chemistry between Cooke and D’Arcy, both on and off the screen, was palpable as they posed together on the carpet and also for a special photoshoot at the premiere.
While on the green carpet, the stars interacted with media and fans, signed autographs, and posed for pictures.

The epic fantasy series ‘House of the Dragon’ is returning for a second season and showrunner Ryan Condal teased in a statement to ET, “‘Paradise lost,’ I think, is the best way to describe what’s unfolding here in House of the Dragon. We’re adapting Fire and Blood. We’re being true to the story that’s written in the book.”
The premiere was also attended by co-stars Matt Smith, Eve BestFabien Frankel, Tom Glynn Carney and Matthew Needham to name a few.

Premiering on June 17, episodes will drop weekly every Monday, along with the US. ‘House of the Dragon’, which premiered on HBO in August 2022, is based on George R R Martin’s book ‘Fire & Blood’, a history of House Targaryen set 300 years before the events described in “Game of Thrones”, which ended its eight-season run in 2019.
“Set in a world of dragons and dynasties, the series explores the complex dynamics of ambition, loyalty, and betrayal as key figures vie for control over the Seven Kingdoms,” the release said.
The second season also star Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Ewan Mitchell, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additional returning cast includes Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban and Jefferson Hall.
