Virat Kohli faced another setback as he was dismissed for just 4 runs during India’s T20 World Cup 2024 match against Pakistan on Sunday. This followed his earlier dismissal for 1 run against Ireland in the first Group A match. Virat played an ill-timed shot against Pakistan’s Naseem Shah, resulting in an easy catch for Usman Khan.
The disappointment was evident not just for Virat but also for his wife Anushka Sharma who was present at the venue. In the match against Pakistan, India lost both openers, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, early in the innings. Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s decision to field first proved fruitful as Naseem Shah dismissed Virat for just 4 runs in 3 balls, while Rohit Sharma fell for 13 runs off 12 balls against Shaheen Afridi.

This is only the second time Virat has been dismissed by Pakistan in T20 World Cups. Previously, in 2021, he scored 57 off 49 balls against them. Despite this setback, Virat remains the highest run-scorer in India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup encounters, with a total of 312 runs in six innings.
